THE LANTERN OF STARS
It is a plea to be sensible
after your love has made me to fly
to the skies where it is the highest
knowing very well my fear of heights
with a reason to fulfill the promise
that you made when we met
swearing how we were to fly to the stars
so that I could learn to face my fears
You took me to them
but you plucked them and put in your pocket
and you left me miserable in the dark
all I do is to grope for your tangible absence
as your scent lingers in your wake
How do I read that letter
that has those promises that you swore
in the dark while I feel the touch of the braille
of the sacred tablets of our love
that are now a bitter pill to swallow
in my confusion that fuses with my insane heart
and I hope...
...to build a castle in the air
that is strong enough to walk in
and look through the window patiently with optimism
to see you coming through the gates
for I am still here at the cold fireplace
in the crevice of darkness
numbly wishing that I should not have met you
and quietly wishing that you come back
with the lantern of stars...
after your love has made me to fly
to the skies where it is the highest
knowing very well my fear of heights
with a reason to fulfill the promise
that you made when we met
swearing how we were to fly to the stars
so that I could learn to face my fears
You took me to them
but you plucked them and put in your pocket
and you left me miserable in the dark
all I do is to grope for your tangible absence
as your scent lingers in your wake
How do I read that letter
that has those promises that you swore
in the dark while I feel the touch of the braille
of the sacred tablets of our love
that are now a bitter pill to swallow
in my confusion that fuses with my insane heart
and I hope...
...to build a castle in the air
that is strong enough to walk in
and look through the window patiently with optimism
to see you coming through the gates
for I am still here at the cold fireplace
in the crevice of darkness
numbly wishing that I should not have met you
and quietly wishing that you come back
with the lantern of stars...
I really love this piece
